As a travel and lifestyle brand, Blue Sky Escapes offers experiences for the curious explorer, frequent globetrotters, and those seeking to enhance their wellness practices.
When travel was put on pause, the brand created a novel product offering, that is their wellness retreats. Conducted with renowned practitioners and a meticulously-curated set of sessions and activities, these retreats are envisioned to be an opportunity for respite, rest, and transformation.
For this project, we wanted to create designs and visual elements to truly represent and embody the Blue Sky Escapes brand and experience. As such, we acquainted ourselves with the brand at length, closely studying their vision, and mission, and intention behind the products. In understanding their intended audience and client experience, we embarked on creating sophisticated and elevated designs for the brand, intended to be both memorable and relatable to their audience.
After thoroughly studying Blue Sky Escapes’ target audience and brand identity, we proposed an illustrative style for the emblems. In our conception of these emblems, we related closely with the flow, movement, and intention behind the wellness retreats, and considered visual cues and elements that would relate most closely to the entire experience.
At the centre of our design inspirations lies Blue Sky Escapes’ clientele — sophisticated and refined, these are individuals who are seeking exploration and transformation of the self, and who are seeking a suitable, conducive space to take their wellness journey to the next level.
The central emblem of the retreat depicts the space that will house the wellness retreat, surrounded by tranquil greenery that was specially chosen to be adaptable to any location and climate that their wellness retreats will potentially be conducted within. This emblem now features on every digital and physical collateral relating to the retreats, and has become the visual representation of Blue Sky Escapes’ wellness offerings.
We also crafted a principal image that will be attached and made to represent the holistic retreat experience. We made an illustration of the retreat space and environment, radiating the promise of rest, wellness and reset — this is much akin to an experience of checking into a tranquil resort and re-emerging with a clearer mind after days of respite and transformation.
To elevate the client experience at the retreat, quality printed collaterals were must-have complements. We diligently studied the retreats’ programme and understood the end-to-end client experience from the team at Blue Sky Escapes. Through this, we were able to conceptualise and illustrate elements that will feature prominently during the retreats, and at the same time, help breathe life into each of them. The resulting emblems that are currently being used include gentle smoke emanating from incense sticks, the warm glow of a candle, a time-honoured gong, and the calming sensations of nature.
With the information and programme details that the brand provided us, we embarked on the creation of an informative digital booklet that was as practical and useful as it was aesthetically on-brand. We sourced, included, and edited images that were most closely related to the sections within the booklet, and ensured that there was sensible spacing amidst the long-form text, so that each recipient would be able to access information in digestible portions. Finally, in consultation with their marketing team, relevant links were created to redirect their audience to Blue Sky Escapes’ mentioned partners, sponsors, and stakeholders.
