Headquartered in New York City, Omnicom Media Group is a leading global media network that specialises in creating end-to-end solutions for tasteful clients all over the world.
With their talented individuals being their greatest asset and heart of the company, Omnicom Media Group is committed to fostering a workplace environment that supports their team’s mental wellness journey.
Together with the team at Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, we helmed the design and creative processes behind the initiative and collaterals that were circulated and distributed.
In conjunction with World Mental Health Day 2021, Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific announced a Mental Wellness Day across their offices in Asia Pacific. To commemorate and decorate this meaningful cause, we worked with the Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific team and Sam Yeo in designing well-considered and visually-cohesive collaterals.
To start the project off, we designed streamlined and meaningful emblems — one for the use of their offices across the Asia Pacific region, and one especially for the Singapore office. These emblems were then appropriately incorporated and spotlighted each of the collaterals.
As personable touches dedicated to the team at Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific, we created accompanying collaterals with an intention of taking a holistic approach towards their Mental Wellness Day — these include stickers, postcards, and packaging sleeves.
In all of these collaterals, we wanted to illustrate the idea of wellness that, while idealistic, is also applicable to the day-to-day, which we have done through our careful selection and crafting of patterns. To reflect the wholeness with which to view wellness, we decided on the use of circles and circular motifs. Wavy patterns are also suitably used to visually express ups and downs that are commonly faced in life.
Locking these down as our principal patterns, the collaterals began to take form. Incorporating the meaningful proverb, ‘health is wealth’, we took inspiration from an ancient Chinese coin, and designed a circular shaped sticker with a centralised square that includes both the Mental Wellness Day emblem as well as Omnicom Media Group’s logo, with the intention of drawing more focus towards the company’s initiative.
We also designed a double-sided postcard — on the front side, we have a heartfelt message from the leaders of the company. This was presented in a straightforward and readable format, complete with signatures to convey sincerity and intent. On the flip side, we included an interactive element for the team — playable bingo squares which simultaneously offer tips and tricks for self-care, so they may align themselves with Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific’s well-intended initiative, and take better steps towards holistic wellness.
As the perfect finishing touch to the package that each person will receive, we designed timeless packaging sleeves that are sized to fit perfectly around a classic brown box.
Designed in an editorial style, we incorporated the brand’s corporate colours and included interactive, clickable elements into an electronic guide/booklet. This booklet was made to ease readers into the topic of mental wellness and to walk them through each aspect of Omnicom Media Group Asia Pacific’s initiative.
Taking into consideration the sensitivity with which to approach the topic of mental wellness, we chose visuals that were more abstract, and we refrained from using images and illustrations that might present themselves as being overly direct or literal. Threading carefully along this fine line, we also had each image artistically edited to adapt the vision and sincere intentions behind the meaningful cause.
In order to have the booklet’s content easily-digestible for all, we spaced out blocks of texts, with deliberate spacings acting as sensible intervals for a long-form copy.
